Preparedness for COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly evolving, and we are constantly reviewing how our Centre operates to serve our community. The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre is essential for our community members, especially during times of crisis such as the one we are experiencing today. All decisions were made with the best interest to preserve the health of our employees, volunteers, donors and members of the community. In order to continue to be present for our community, we had to modify our services. As of March 16, please note that services considered non-essential for the EORC are closed to the public. Some changes are in collaboration with our partners. We will ask you to carefully read the changes listed below: Intake and Referral: Phone support and crisis intervention is available by phone. It is necessary to call before presenting yourself on the premises. Food Cupboard: It is necessarily to call before presenting yourself on the premises so we can prepare your package of food. Income Tax Clinics: the clinics are cancelled. Child and Youth Program: all activities are postponed. The Child and Youth Counsellor remain available to children and youth through telephone. Violence Against Women: Counsellors are available by telephone. All groups are postponed. If unsafe, in office appointments can be arranged. Children Who Witness: Counsellor is available by telephone. Groups are postponed. Adult Day Program: Postponed until further notice. Meals on Wheels: Still operating with slight changes, call extension 300 for more information. Transportation: Still operating with slight changes, call extension 300 for more information. Community Development: Our community developer is available to connect over the; telephone, email, social media, zoom to ensure community needs are being responded to. Reach out to help build community connections, learn innovative ways to be creative, stay connected and helpful resources. We are monitoring this situation very closely to ensure that essential services for our community is functioning properly. The Centre will publish updates on an ongoing basis to keep you informed of the developments of the situation and the services that will be impacted by this crisis.
