    Community Support Services:

     

     

    The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre (EORC) is a community-based, non-profit organization. The EORC offers a wide range of social and community services to older adults and adults with physical disabilities residing in Blackburn Hamlet, Beacon Hill, Carlsbad Springs, Gloucester South, Orleans, Cumberland, Navan, Vars and Sarsfield.

     

     

    Through the provision of Community Support Services (CSS) the EORC is committed to supporting older adults and adults with a physical disability live independent, active and meaningful lives. Our goal is to help individuals stay in their own homes as long as they so choose by connecting clients with the care and services they need. Thanks to the efforts of our committed staff and dependable, screened volunteers, the EORC plays a vital role in helping make our community a vibrant and accessible place for seniors and adults with a physical disability.

      MEALS ON WHEELS:

     

    Our Meals on Wheels provides a nutritious balanced meal for seniors and adults with physical disabilities.

    This menu rotates over a 3-week period and will take effect as of June 13th 2016. We will be starting the new menu on week 1.

     

    Frozen Meals:

     

    Our Frozen Meals are provided by Apetito & TimeSaver Foods.

      TELEPHONE ASSURANCE:

    CAREGIVERS SUPPORT:

      GOING HOME:

     

    The Going Home Program is a community-based service designed to help seniors and physically disabled adults return home safely following a hospital stay. It provides a free support service for clients during their return home. Clients must be referred by the CCAC prior to discharge from hospital.

     

     

    Fee based services*:

     

    Although the EORC is a non-profit organization, the funding we receive does not necessarily cover all the costs associated with offering a service. To remain a sustainable nonprofit organization and assure that we will be able to continue to offer support to our community some services require a direct service fee. We strive to ensure that our services are accessible to everyone regardless of economic status. Subsidies may be available to low income individuals pending a financial assessment. Our fee based services* include:

    Our Home Help program provides seniors and people with disabilities with access to safe, reliable workers for regular housecleaning or occasional maintenance to ensure that they live in a clean, safe and well maintained home environment.

    RESPITE CARE*:Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre provides respite for caregivers

     

    Are you presently taking care of a family member or loved one?

     

    Do you need some respite?

     

    The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre offers a respite service for caregivers of an older adult or person with disabilities. A respite care provider can keep your loved ones company while you the caregiver run errands, visit some friends, or go to your appointments. Click here for more information.

    DAY PROGRAM*:

     

    Therapeutic, social and recreational programming in a group setting for frail, isolated or cognitively impaired older adults and respite time for their caregivers / care partners.  For more information or to apply contact the Community Care Access Centre at 310-2222.

    SNOW GO / ASSIST*: Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre provides foot care for seniors

     

    Referrals to screened contractors to clear snow from private driveways and/or walkways. Low income individuals may be reimbursed for up to 50 % or a maximum of $250 pending a financial assessment.
